Fire protection system design

Sprinkler, hydrant, fire alarm and smoke control systems designed to the National Building Code, with the drawings you need for the fire NOC.

Fire fighting and detection systems we design

Fire protection design decides how a building detects a fire, warns the people inside, controls the spread and gives the fire brigade what it needs to put it out. We design these systems to Part 4 of the National Building Code of India 2016 and the relevant IS standards, for the building's height, occupancy and floor area.

  • Automatic sprinkler systems
  • Wet riser and downcomer systems
  • Yard hydrants and hose reels
  • Fire pump room, jockey and diesel pumps
  • Underground and overhead fire tanks
  • Fire alarm and detection layouts
  • Manual call points and PA / voice evacuation
  • Smoke extraction and staircase pressurisation
  • Fire extinguisher schedules
  • Gas suppression for server and electrical rooms

Fire NOC drawings

For buildings that need a fire NOC, we prepare the drawings the Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services asks for: fire fighting layouts, riser diagrams, pump room and tank details, and the fire safety measures on the architectural plans. We revise them if the department raises queries and coordinate with your architect on exits, refuge areas and compartmentation.

Coordinated with the other services

Sprinkler mains are among the largest pipes in a ceiling void and the most likely to clash with beams and ducts. We model them with the MEP services and structure in Revit, so heads are spaced correctly and pipes run where they can actually be installed.

Frequently asked questions

Something else you'd like to know? Ask us.

Which buildings need a sprinkler system?

It depends on the building's height, use and floor area under NBC 2016 Part 4. As a rule, high-rise buildings, large commercial and assembly buildings, hotels above a certain size, hospitals and basements need sprinklers. We confirm the requirement for your building at the design basis stage.

Do you prepare fire NOC drawings for Goa?

Yes. We prepare the fire fighting and fire alarm drawings needed for the fire NOC application and revise them if the department raises queries.

Can you design fire fighting for an existing building?

Yes. We survey the building, check it against current requirements and design the additions needed, routing pipes and cables around the existing structure.

Do you supply or install fire fighting equipment?

No. We are designers. We prepare the drawings, BOQ and specifications, help you compare contractors' quotes, and review their shop drawings.
